Six people have been killed in a shooting at a teaching hospital in the Czech Republic, the local governor has said.

The suspected gunman was still at large, police said on Twitter.

Officers were called to the hospital in the north-eastern city of Ostrava at about 07:00 (06:00 GMT) on Tuesday, the interior minister said.

According to reports, the shooting took place at a traumatology clinic. The entire hospital was evacuated.

“The police are intensively searching for the perpetrator,” police warned.

Unconfirmed reports in Czech media say the gunman was a man in a red jacket and he opened fire in one of the outpatient departments.
