Nigerians say it’s better to be an orphan than to have a father like Meghan Markle’s after he granted another interview to call out Meghan and Harry for stepping down (video)

Thomas Markle has been called out by a number of people – including Nigerians – after he granted a recent interview in which he accused his daughter Meghan Markle and her husband Prince Harry of “cheapening the royals”.

While reacting to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to step down from their roles as “senior” members of the royal family, Thomas Markle said his daughter was throwing away something every girl wishes for. He added that she and Harry had turned royalty into something as common as Walmart.

He said: “They are destroying it, they are cheapening it, making it shabby – they are turning it into a Walmart with a crown on it now.”

He added that Meghan is tossing it all away “for money”, said she wasn’t satisfied with what she already got, and went on to say that her action is “embarrassing” to him.

A great number of Twitter users felt Thomas Markle Sr. had crossed the line of what a father should never do to his daughter and they called him out. But some defended him and pointed out that Meghan alienated him first.

Nigerians who reacted opined that one is better off being an orphan than having a father like Thomas Markle Sr.
