2025 UTME: We are scrutinizing complaints to fix technical issues – JAMB

2025 UTME: We are scrutinizing complaints to fix technical issues ? JAMB

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that it is currently investigating complaints regarding the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in order to identify and resolve any technical issues.

Following what it described as “a significant volume of unusual complaints” about the recently released UTME results, JAMB confirmed it has assembled a team of experts to carry out a thorough review.

These include members of the Computer Professionals Association of Nigeria, Chief External Examiners (who are heads of tertiary institutions), the Educational Assessment and Research Network in Africa, measurement experts, and vice chancellors from across the country.

In a statement issued by its Public Communication Advisor, Fabian Benjamin, JAMB expressed particular concern over the complaints emerging from specific states.

“In response, the Board is fast-forwarding its annual system review — a comprehensive post-mortem of the examination process usually conducted months after the exercise,” the statement read.

The review, according to JAMB, will cover the entire process: registration, examination, and result release. The board assured that any technical disruptions during the exam period are always met with immediate rescheduling for affected candidates.

“We are currently scrutinising these complaints in detail to identify and rectify any potential technical issues,” the statement continued. “If it is determined that there were indeed glitches, we will implement appropriate remedial measures promptly, as we do in the case of the examinations themselves.”
