US election: Second Trump-Biden debate to be virtual amid Covid concerns

Breaking News image

The second debate between US President Donald Trump and Democratic candidate Joe Biden will be held virtually, the Commission on Presidential Debates has announced.

The move to a virtual format comes as Mr Trump continues treatment for coronavirus at the White House.

His doctor says he has had no symptoms for more than 24 hours.

The second debate between the rival candidates is scheduled for next Thursday.

The upcoming face-off will be a town-hall style event “in which the candidates would participate from separate remote locations,” the commission said.
