Ole Miss WR Mingo in boot, out vs. Bama

Ole Miss wide receiver Jonathan Mingo is wearing a protective boot on his left foot and will miss Saturday’s game against No. 1 Alabama.

Mingo was wearing shorts during pregame warm-ups Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium. An Ole Miss spokesman said coach Lane Kiffin would address his injury after the game.

The junior has been key to the Rebels’ offensive resurgence, ranking second on the team with 15 receptions for 290 yards and three touchdowns as No. 12 Ole Miss has gotten off to a 3-0 start this season.

Mingo had been part of a strong 1-2 receiving threat with Dontario Drummond as the Rebels came into the agme leading the nation in total yards and points per game.

In his three seasons, Mingo has caught 54 passes for 841 yards — an average of 15.6 yards per catch — and seven TDs.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
