There are indications that an unspecified number of persons have been killed after explosions rocked Galadima Kogo in the Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.
Bandits were said to have launched mortars at the town.
The gunmen also set ablaze many houses in the community.
“Explosives believed to be bombs planted by marauding terrorists exploded this morning at Galadima Kogo. This follows last night’s raid where the rampaging, hydra-headed venomous, murderous and heartless terrorists carried out arson on the town,” a source told SaharaReporters on Monday.
In January, dozens of people were killed after terrorists attacked Galadima Kogo.
Efforts to reach the Niger State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, were not successful as he did not answer calls to his mobile phone nor reply to the text sent to him.
