A 25-year-old man, Usman Khalil, has been arrested in Jigawa State for allegedly parading himself as a mobile police officer. Spokesperson of the Jigawa State Police Command, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, who confirmed the arrest in a statement on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, said the suspect has been impersonating mobile police attached to 35PMF Dutse and intimidating people. “Before his arrest, the suspect was reported to have gone to one Aliyu Bako shop at mechanic village in a police uniform with a gun, and bought some food commodities on credit and promised to pay as soon as he fixed his salary account,” the PPRO stated. Later, the fake police officer failed to keep his promise, and the victim reported the matter to the police authorities. “The suspect was arrested on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at about 1640 hours.
