Operatives of the Adamawa state police command attached to Girei Division while on Confidence Building Patrol along Sangere Girei Road, have arrested a 32-year-old man identified as Mika Bitrus a resident of Sangere for allegedly raping a 4-year-old. A statement released by the spokesperson of the command, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said the suspect was arrested following a complaint made by Fatsuma Abdullahi a mother to the victim. He said the investigation so far reveals that the suspect is a carpenter and a father of one. He said he took advantage of the victim who happened to be his neighbour. Nguroje added that the state Commissioner of Police CP Afolabi Babatola has assured that criminals of such attitude will never escape punishment.
