The Edo State Police Command has successfully rescued His Royal Highness, Friday Ehizojie, the kidnapped traditional ruler of Udo-Eguare community in Igueben Local Government Area of Edo State. The Onogie of Udo-Eguare was abducted on February 3 in a forest between Ubiaja and Udo community while traveling on a commercial motorcycle. Tragically, the motorcycle rider was shot dead during the incident. According to the commands spokesperson, CSP Moses Yamu, the rescue was achieved on Friday through sustained search and rescue efforts involving the police and vigilantes. The command is pleased to inform the general public that the sustained search and rescue operations have yielded positive results, Yamu stated. He noted that the Commissioner of Police, Betty Otimenyin, fulfilled her promise of ensuring the rulers safe return. The operation was made possible through logistical support provided by the state Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo. The spokesperson expressed gratitude to vigilantes, hunters, and other residents who contributed to the operation and reiterated the commands commitment to combating crime in the state. The post Abducted Edo traditional ruler regains freedom appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
