Afenifere leader, Adebanjo d!es at 96

Pa Ayodele Adebanjo, a leader of pan-Yoruba sociocultural group, Afenifere has d!ed at the age of 96. The elder statesman reportedly d!ed Friday morning, Feb. 14, at his residence in Lekki, Lagos. His de@th was confirmed by his family in a statement. The statement, signed on behalf of the family by Mrs. Ayotunde Atteh (nee Ayo-Adebanjo), Mrs. Adeola Azeez (nee Ayo-Adebanjo), and Mr. Obafemi Ayo-Adebanjo, partly reads: “He d!ed peacefully this morning, Friday, February 14, 2025, at his Lekki, Lagos Nigeria home at the age of 96.
