Alhaji Aminu Dantata, who died on Saturday in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, was buried on Tuesday at the Al-Baqi Cemetery in Madinah, Saudi Arabia.

His burial followed the Janaโ€™iza (funeral) prayers held after the Maghrib prayer at the Prophetโ€™s Mosque in the Islamic holy city.

The body of the late patriarch arrived in Madinah on Tuesday morning and was accompanied by his son, Alhaji Tajudeen Dantata; his nephew and businessman, Alhaji Aliko Dangote; and other family members.

A delegation from the Federal Government attended the funeral. According to a statement by Special Assistant (Media) to the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Rabiu Ibrahim, the delegation left Nigeria on Sunday and arrived in Madinah early Monday.
