Midnight Inferno Destroys Buildings in Port Harcourt, Leaves Residents Homeless

‎A devastating midnight fire has left residents of Azikiwe Street in Diobu, Port Harcourt, counting their losses. The inferno gutted two buildings, destroying homes, shops, and warehouses worth billions of naira but no live was lost as dozens rendered homeless.

‎The fire which broke out around 2:00 a.m. at No. 55 Azikiwe Street, reportedly sparked by an electric hot plate left unattended in a tenant’s room.

Eyewitnesses say the flames quickly spread to No. 57, engulfing both buildings before help could arrive.
