The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Pastor Enoch Adeboye this afternoon led members of his church in a prayer walk against killings and insecurity across the country.
Before leading his church’s members for the prayer walk, Pastor Adeboye led his congregation on prayers for the peace and security of the country at his church’s monthly Thanksgiving Service.
He said;
“Lord, have mercy on Nigeria. Let there be peace and security in Nigeria. God sees all things and knows where the terrorists are hiding, we pray that God sends His light to Nigeria and expose the evildoers in the country.
“After the service, we are all going for a prayer walk. We’ll march according to age. There are some who would march around the church because of their age and there are some who would march with me to Atan Cemetery and back.”
The prayer walk which was against the killing of Christians in the northern part of the country began at about 11am shortly after the church service at RCCG’s National Headquarters in Ebute Metta, Lagos State.

In a statement released shortly after the prayer walk, Pastor Adeboye said they offered prayers and supplications unto God to save Nigeria from being consumed by insurgents, terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, armed robbers, militants and ritualists.
He also called for the security infrastructure in the country to be overhauled and improved drastically.
The statement reads;
Today, Sunday, 2nd of February, 2020, members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God led by me embarked on a prayer walk that will usher in a new dawn in our dear country, Nigeria.
The prayer walk was aimed at offering prayers and supplications unto God to save Nigeria from being consumed by insurgents, terrorists, bandits, kidnappers, armed robbers, militants and ritualists in all our states.
Furthermore, we declared that Jesus who is the Prince of Peace is our Lord and King. We carried and displayed several placards saying ‘No’ to further killings and demanding that the Federal and State governments should rise up to their civic responsibility of securing the lives and properties of her citizens.
In addition to this, we suggest that the security infrastructure in our nation be overhauled and improved drastically.
It is our prayer and burning desire that peace will reign in our land. It is our heart-cry that our current security challenges will be a thing of the past.
