34 persons arrested for jogging along the Gbagada expressway in Lagos state on Wednesday morning despite the lockdown order, have been sentenced to one month of community service and compulsory quarantine at the Infectious Disease Hospital Yaba.

They were arrested by security operatives and then arraigned by the state government before a Magistrate court in Yaba.  The arrested joggers pleaded guilty to a one-count charge of working out in a group larger than 20 persons on the Gbagada-Oworonsoki Expressway.

The court ruled that all 34 of them should be quarantined for 14 days at the Infectious Diseases Hospital Yaba or any other place designated by the government.
