Japan undersea volcano: Artist tries to swim in floating pumice stone

A major clear-up operation has started in the Japanese island of Okinawa to remove pumice stone, which has accumulated along its coast after a huge underwater volcanic eruption in August.

The floating stone has covered the white sand beaches of the island’s resorts, blocked ports, wrecked boats, and killed farmed fish. One local artist even tried to swim in it – watch to see how she got on.
