Gombe Man Strangles Mother For Advising Him Against Hard Drugs

A 26-year-old man, Garba Abubakar, has been arrested for allegedly strangling his mother, Salamatu Abubakar in Gombe State.
The state Commissioner of Police, Ishola Babaita, while parading the suspect, noted that the suspect strangled his 45 years old mother because she usually advised him to stop taking hard drugs.

He advised parents to pay more attention to the care of their children and make sure they are not into hard drugs.
“The suspect strangled his mother because she usually advised him to stop taking hard drugs. The victim was rushed to General Hospital Kumo where she was confirmed dead by a medical doctor.
“I am advising parents to pay more attention to the care of their children and make sure they are not into hard drug. Sadly this woman was murdered by her own son; that is the effect of drugs” he said.
However, Adamu Lawal, 53, who allegedly defiled his neighbour’s 10-year- old daughter, who usually took animal feed to him, was also paraded.
Babaita said the suspect forcefully had carnal knowledge of the little girl, adding that investigation was still on.
