Akpabio Appreciates Senate’s Support in Sexual Harassment Case

President of the Senate Godswill Akpabio has expressed appreciated his colleagues for passing a vote of confidence on him amid allegations of sexual harassment by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

This is coming on the heels of vote of confidence passed on him after a remark by Leader of the senate Opeyemi Bamidele at the Thursday’s plenary session.

According to Galaxy TV, Akpabio who was absent during the first part of Thursday’s session returned to thank his colleagues for their gesture while his deputy, Jibrin Barau presided.

The Senate President however decried the recent comments made by Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan at Inter Parliamentary Union summit in New York where she reaffirmed her allegations.

Akpabio however praised a female lawmaker, Kafilat Ogbara, who led the Nigerian delegation to the IPU summit for clarifying that Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan was suspended for breaking the rules of senate.
