Man arrested for allegedly beat!ng girlfriend to de@th in Rivers

 The police in Rivers State have arrested a 30-year-old man identified as Richard Emmanuel for allegedly k!llling his female lover, Caroline Sunday, over infidelity accusation at Abraham Street, Eneka community in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state on Saturday, July 11.

Neighbors say the couple got into a heated argument that degenerated into a f!ght after the suspect confronted the deceased over claims she was che@ting on him. During the f!ght, the suspect pushed the deceased, causing her to hit her head against the sharp edge of the wall.

Neighbours, who rushed to the scene after hearing Caroline’s cries for help, attempted to revive her after they found her in a pool of blood, but it was unsuccessful.

Men of the Eneka Police Division were alerted. They arrived at the scene and arrested the suspect, who was already restrained from fleeing by the residents of the area.

The police reportedly rushed the victim to a nearby hospital, where she was confirmed de@d.

Her corpse was subsequently deposited in a mortuary for preservation and autopsy.

Confirming the incident to newsmen, the command’s spokesperson, ASP Blessing Agabe, said the suspect is currently being detained at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Port Harcourt and will be arraigned upon the completion of police investigation.
