Nigerian man dupes German lady of 10,000 Euros through dating site

The Anambra State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has arrested a Nigerian man for allegedly defrauding a German national through a dating site.

Chigozie Ndubusi Kizzito allegedly defrauded the woman of the sum of 10, 000 Euros.

The command’s public relations officer, ASC Edwin Okadigbo, said this in a statement made available to The Whistler in Awka.

According to Okadigbo, the arrest of the suspect followed a complaint lodged to the corps on 29/4/2020, at about 1:pm, by one Barrister Jideofor Chinwuba, Esq. on behalf of his client, one Ms Oyeleke Patricia Magdalena, ‘F’, a German.

Okadigbo said the twenty-nine-year old suspect is from NdibeOkwu Mmuo, Ndi Ejezie Kindred, Arondizuogu in Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State.

“Preliminary investigations reveal that the suspect allegedly met the victim in August 2019 on a dating site, Lesarion, where a supposed relationship was consummated, and from November 2019 till March 2020, the suspect defrauded the victim of 10,000 Euros.

“The suspect has equally made a voluntary confessional statement to the NSCDC.” he added

He said the exhibits recovered from the suspect included transaction details of funds transferred to him from the victim, and a copy of a letter, purportedly written to the German Embassy, of him “protesting his visa denial” by the Embassy.

Okadigbo further stated that the case would be handed over to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for further investigations and prosecution.
