Six Coronavirus patients have been discharged from the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) by the Plateau state government, after recovering from the disease.

Plateau state Commissioner for Health, Nimkong Lar said the patients were discharged after clinically improving and testing negative for the virus.

11 confirmed cases who are currently receiving treatment at JUTH, are said to be in a stable condition and responding to treatment.

Lar said;

“The six patients bring to 10 the number of COVID-19 cases so far discharged in the state.

“The first index case in the state was discharged on May 7, another three on May 13, while six were discharged today.”

The health commissioner also made a clarification on the mix up in the number of new cases of Coronavirus in the state as released by the NCDC on Friday May 15. Lar said the total number of confirmed cases in the state is 21 and not 25, and that 255 suspected cases of Coronavirus were quarantined at its centres across the state.

He added;

“Only one case is fresh, the other four were repeat tests of the patients receiving treatment at JUTH.”
