Invitation: Sanwoolu to host Tinubu, Soyinka, Cherie Blair, Momodu, Odumakin on June 12 Commemoration Webinar for Lagos Youth

In commemoration of the 2020 National Democracy Day celebration in Lagos, the Lagos State Governor Mr Babajide Sanwoolu will play host to Young and Emerging Leaders from across Lagos on a Live Webinar tomorrow Friday 12th June 2020 at 12pm on ZOOM.

The inter-generational dialogue will feature as Speaker eminent individuals and emerging leaders, including the former Governor Lagos State Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Nobel laureate Prof Wole Soyinka, Lagos Deputy Governor Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, Special Adviser to the President of Nigeria Senator Babafemi Ojudu, Chief Dele Alake, Bashorun Dele Momodu, Dr Joe Okei-Odumakin and daughter of Chief Moshood Abiola, Dr Hafsat Abiola-Costello, all of whom played a key role in the June 12 Struggle for Democracy in Nigeria, sharing their June 12 stories and lessons we must learn from the past in our journey of building the Nigeria of our dreams.

The wife of Tony Blair, UK Former Prime Minister, Mrs Cherie Blair will also deliver a message on: Making Democracy Work for Women and Children in Nigeria.

The event is open to everyone especially Young People and Student. Interested participant can register on lagosyouthwebinar.eventbrite.com and will be emailed the Zoom Link after registration.

The Webinar will also feature a Panel on “beyond June 12: Shaping our Future Together”, with Yemi Adamolekun of EIE Nigeria and Seun Onigbinde of Budgit as Speaker.

The event seeks to honour the memory of Moshood Abiola, who won the June 12, 1993 election that was annulled, and the contributions of some of the Speakers in the struggle that led to the democracy that we enjoy today.
 

The event will also feature Live Performances by TY Bello, Timi Dakolo and Feranmi the Golden Angel.

In addition to the Zoom participation, the event will be streamed on Facebook, Youtube and other social media platform.
