Cory Sandhagen stopped Marlon Moraes in the second round to win Saturday night’s bantamweight main event at UFC Fight Night in Abu Dhabi.
The TKO came at 1 minute, 3 seconds.
Sandhagen caught Moraes with a spinning heel kick to the head, causing him to hit the canvas and roll backward against the cage. Sandhagen pounced and landed a flurry of strikes before the referee jumped in to stop the fight.
Sandhagen (13-2), who is 28 and fights out of Aurora, Colorado, had won seven straight before a first-round submission loss to Aljamain Sterling in his previous fight.
Moraes (23-7-1) was on a four-fight winning streak before succumbing to former bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo in June 2019. He rebounded with a split-decision win over Jose Aldo in December.
