Sources: NFL shuts down Pats’ facility for 3rd time

The NFL is shutting down the New England Patriots‘ facility Sunday morning, marking the third shutdown there in 10 days, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Field Yates.

The Patriots are testing Sunday morning and awaiting further direction from the NFL, but the status of Monday night’s game against the Denver Broncos is in question.

The Patriots’ game vs. the Broncos was moved from Sunday to Monday at 5 p.m. ET as part of an ESPN doubleheader, the NFL announced Thursday.

The Patriots reopened their facility Saturday after having worked virtually Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. A source told ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler that there were no new positive tests from Friday’s testing, which marked a third straight day that was the case.

Patriots quarterback Cam Newton and cornerback Stephon Gilmore didn’t practice Saturday. Newton, Gilmore and practice-squad defensive tackle Bill Murray remain on the team’s reserve/COVID-19 list.
