Emotional families reunite at airport as US lifts travel ban

The US imposed restrictions on non-citizen air travellers in January 2020. The ban, which barred foreign workers and families from reuniting, was extended to 33 countries. It was officially lifted today.

British Airways reopened the Europe-to-US route with a first flight reserved for pandemic-separated families.

Selected passengers greeted their loved ones and new family members with teary eyes after being apart for over 600 days.
