Chiefs get scoop-and-score touchdown on first play from scrimmage vs. Raiders

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Chiefs scored on the first play from scrimmage on Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders at Arrowhead Stadium, taking a 7-0 lead before most of the fans had settled into their seats.

Las Vegas running back Josh Jacobs was stripped by Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones, and cornerback Mike Hughes recovered the loose ball. Hughes then returned the fumble 23 yards to give the Chiefs a 7-0 lead just 17 seconds into the game.

Kansas City is looking for a sixth consecutive victory and to keep its lead in the AFC West, while the Raiders are looking to get back on track after losing four of their first five games. The way they started Sunday won’t help with that.
