#NorthIsBleeding: Nigeria’s Secret Police, DSS Invites Another Convener, Musa Muhammed In Desperate Clampdown Against Protesters

The Department of State Services (DSS) has invited another convener of the #NorthIsBleeding protests which have enveloped Northern Nigeria over the ineptitude of the Muhammadu Buhari regime.

A top source told SaharaReporters that one of the conveners, Musa Bayi Muhammed, had been asked to report at the DSS office in Bauchi State on Monday for interrogation.

“Somebody just called from the DSS (Department of State Services) office In Bauchi State that he should report to their office tomorrow (Monday) by 12pm,” the source said.

“He’s among the organisers of #NorthIsBleeding movement and protest.”

Muhammed is not the first among the organisers to receive such an invitation from the nation’s secret police.

SaharaReporters had earlier reported the Co-convener of the #SaveTheNorth and #NoMoreBloodshed protest, Zainab Naseer Ahmed, was interrogated by the DSS.
One of the organisers of #SaveTheNorth protest in Abuja last week, Zainab Ahmed, popularly known as Bint Hijazi, told SaharaReporters on Saturday that another member of the movement, Ibrahim Birniwa, had also been invited by the secret police in Kano.
However, the movement has vowed not to be intimidated into keeping silent.

The movement also insisted that instead of backing out, it would rather mobilise more Nigerian youths from all parts of the country to join the mass action against President Muhammadu Buhari.

It put the blame on President Buhari because of his failure to address the security challenges in the country.

The movement had on Friday embarked on a protest with the following inscriptions on their placards: #SaveTheNorth; #NorthernLivesMatter; #NorthIsBleeding; #SecureOurLives; #EnoughIsEnough; and #NoMoreBloodShed.

The protesters said they were fed up and could no longer fold their hands and watch their people being slaughtered by bandits.

The movement described the gruesome killing of at least 23 travellers in a bus in Sokoto State as an indication of a failed state.
