Gunmen Invade Plateau Community Market, Kill Seven, Injure Others

An attack by gunmen on a community market in Pinau community of the Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State has left at least seven people dead, Daily Trust reports.
Many villagers were also injured in the attack which was carried out on Sunday evening.





Wase youth leader, Shapi’i Sambo confirmed the latest attack, and further described it as unfortunate.
He said the gunmen stormed the market and started shooting sporadically.
Another source said that in the last 10 days, gunmen had abducted many people in the area and collected millions of naira as ransom.
The source said, “They collect ransom in millions. Sometime they collect N2 million and sometime N5 millions. Last three days, they collected N5million before releasing a man whom they abducted some days back.”
