Federal Lawmakers Decry High Rate Of Kidnapping, Insecurity In Plateau

Members of the House of Representatives have expressed concern over the high spate of insecurity in the country especially kidnapping in Plateau State.

The lawmakers expressed their views during a debate on a motion sponsored by Bagos Dachung on the use of relevant technology to track perpetrators of heinous crimes in the country.



The lawmakers tasked the Inspector-General of Police to investigate, prosecute and bring perpetrators of these crimes to justice.

The House also mandated Federal Government institutions like National Veterinary Institute and National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies to install street lights within their surroundings with surveillance cameras to tackle the menace.

The lawmakers also mandated the IGP to equip police personnel with a gadgets to enhance communication in localities across the country.
