A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has delivered a judgement in favour of Cross River State Governor, Prof Ben Ayade; and his deputy, Prof Ivara Esu, in respect of their defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The duo had in 2021 left the PDP and joined the APC.
Not satisfied with the defection, the PDP had approached the court to sack the governor.
Delivering judgement on Thursday, Justice Taiwo Taiwo ruled that there was internal crisis within the opposition party when Ayade defected.
