49-year-old woman commits suicide in Ogun

A middle-aged woman identified as Victoria Idowu reportedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan in the Magboro area of Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State.  It was gathered that the 49-year-old woman hung herself rom a ceiling fan in her bedroom on Sunday, April 21, 2024.  Spokesperson of the command, Omolola Odutola, who confirmed the incident to punch said the son of the deceased raised the alarm after returning from a church service and finding his mother reportedly hanged with a rope from the ceiling fan.   The PPRO added that upon receiving the report, police officers from the Ibafo Division visited the scene where the body of the deceased was found. According to the son, he came back from the church at about 1530 hours and discovered that his mother, one Mrs Idowu Victoria, F, aged 49 years of the same address, had committed suicide by hanging herself on the ceiling fan inside her room. The DPO immediately drafted men to the scene. No suicide note was found,” she said.  The PPRO disclosed further that an investigation has commenced to unravel the circumstances behind the incident.  She, however, urged members of the public to always provide support to their loved ones who may be suffering from mental health challenges. “Meanwhile, the investigation is still ongoing to unravel the circumstances behind the sad incident. Suicide is unlawful.
