Troops and Amotekun rescue kidnapped Abuja-bound passengers in Ondo forest

Troops of the Nigerian Army and men of the Amotekun Corps have rescued Abuja-bound passengers who were kidnapped between Akunu, in Akoko Northeast Local Government Area of Ondo and Ayere in Ijumu Local Government of Kogi State. The victims numbering about six, were kidnapped around 7pm on Tuesday, July 9, 2024.  Officers of the Nigerian Army and Amotekun Corps went after the abductors, combed the forest and eventually rescued the victims at about 10 pm the same day.  Two of the rescued victims, Madam Alicia Afolayan, 74, and Mr Kabiru Yakubu,29, the driver, said when the vehicle was attacked, all the passengers ran away and the kidnappers used white dogs to trace them in the forest. Yakubu explained that a combined team of Men of the Nigerian Army and Amotekun personnel rescued them in the forest. The post Troops and Amotekun rescue kidnapped Abuja-bound passengers in Ondo forest appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
