FG Declares April 18, 21 as Easter Public Holidays

The Federal Government has declared Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21, 2025, as public holidays to commemorate Good Friday and Easter Monday, marking the Christian observance of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

This was made known in a statement issued by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, where the minister encouraged Nigerians to use the holiday period to pray for peace, unity, and stability in the country.

The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, congratulated Christians nationwide and urged them to reflect on the values of sacrifice and love exemplified by Christ.

He also reaffirmed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s dedication to the Renewed Hope Agenda, aimed at driving national development. Tunji-Ojo called on citizens to show love and kindness to one another and wished all Nigerians a joyful Easter celebration.
