The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has commenced rescheduling 379,997 candidates affected by errors in the recently concluded Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The process began Thursday morning, following an announcement by JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, during a press briefing in Abuja on Wednesday.
Prof. Oloyede acknowledged that technical issues impacted 206,610 candidates across 65 centres in Lagos and 173,387 candidates in 92 centres in the Owerri zone, covering the five South East states. “The affected candidates will start receiving text messages for rescheduling from tomorrow,” he stated, adding, “I apologise, I take full responsibility.”
A reprinted exam slip obtained by our correspondent revealed that one affected candidate has been rescheduled to retake the UTME on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 12 noon at a centre in the Igando community, Alimosho Local Government Area, Lagos State.
JAMB’s rescheduling efforts aim to ensure all affected candidates can complete their examinations without further disruption.
