Social media critic and influencer, Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has taken his protest to the doorstep of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, in Abuja.
According to The PUNCH, primary school teachers in the FCT have been on strike since March 24, 2025 — over 90 days — due to the failure of Area Council Chairmen to implement the new national minimum wage of ₦70,000.
In a symbolic demonstration on Monday, VDM gathered a group of schoolchildren dressed in their uniforms and conducted an impromptu classroom session, teaching them the alphabet, as a way to draw attention to the prolonged industrial action and its impact on education.
