The Post That Changed Everything: A Woman’s Journey with PalmPay

I was in my room, stuck. I needed a career change, but I had no idea where to start. I was at that classic career crossroads, craving growth, but lacking fuel.

Then, a friend tagged me in a WhatsApp status “PalmPay Purple Woman 2.0: Accelerating the Future of Payments – Women, AI and Fintech.”

I saw it and ignored it more than once. On a rough day at work, I remembered the PalmPay Purple Woman post. I went back, found the online flyer, and on a whim, I applied. I didn’t expect much, honestly, but from the moment I got the call that I’d been selected as one of the 100 lucky women, things started to shift. The PalmPay Purple Woman 2.0 Masterclass was packed with knowledge in three days, with a focus on digital marketing, data analysis, HR, UI/UX, and project management. I had not explored these areas before. Women leaders shared their stories. Women in tech, women balancing careers and families, women building empires. It wasn’t just informative, it was deeply energising.

That’s when I realised that  PalmPay isn’t just your average finance app enabling people to pay bills and make payments, but that PalmPay was driving financial inclusion and investing in people’s development – building real skills, exploring new territory, and unlocking new doors.

That event was also part of PalmPay’s International Women’s Day celebration. The theme “Accelerate Action” wasn’t just a slogan; it was a reminder that women aren’t waiting in the wings, we’re already shaping the future of fintech, and platforms like PalmPay are creating the space for us to thrive.

Then came the surprise announcement that only 10 participants would be selected for a six-month internship at PalmPay. With sweaty palms, a racing heart, and a dry mouth, I heard my name…..number 10…..I was in total disbelief. Shaky legs and all, I walked up to that stage, knowing something had changed.
Now? I’m three months into my internship in the marketing department, and it’s been nothing short of amazing.

My team is brilliant. My managers genuinely care. I’ve learned more than I ever expected. Every day feels like I’m building towards something real. If someone had told me a year ago that I’d enjoy a 9–5 job, I would’ve laughed. Hard.

But here I am, grateful beyond words for that one post.
A post I almost ignored.
A post that led me to PalmPay.
A post that gave me a career boost.

Sometimes, saying yes to more starts with something as small as a tagged post after all.
