Former Minister of Transportation and ex-Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, has publicly challenged the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, to a walk from Abuja to Port Harcourt to prove who holds greater public popularity.
Speaking during an interview on Thursday, Amaechi expressed frustration over what he perceives as Wike’s lack of respect, stating, “I don’t know why he doesn’t respect people like us; I am older. I brought him up in politics. Who is he?” Amaechi, who mentored Wike during his political rise in Rivers State, dared the FCT Minister to join him in a walk without security escorts, saying, “Let’s take a walk from the airport to Port Harcourt, no police, no army, just the two of us.”
Amaechi also confirmed his resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday, marking his exit from the ruling party.
