A chartered plane evacuating Nigerians from the United Arab Emirates has made a U-turn.
The plane had to make a u-turn after a pregnant woman went into labour. Mother and child are said to be doing fine.
Abike Dabiri-Erewa, chairman of the Nigerian in Diaspora Commission, who confirmed the development, said the plane, which was scheduled to arrive at 3pm is now expected to land at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos at 7pm.
3000 Nigerians have signified interest to return home due to the Coronavirus pandemic. They will be isolated for a period of 14 days once they arrive Lagos later today.
