Myanmar coup: Singapore PM Lee says situation ‘tragic’

Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has condemned the use of violence by Myanmar’s security forces against unarmed civilians protesting against last month’s coup.

Speaking to the BBC, he urged the military to release Aung San Suu Kyi, the country’s democratically elected leader.

His comments came as the security forces again used tear gas and stun grenades against people in Myanmar’s biggest city, Yangon.
