Sources: Star Lions TE Hockenson out for season

Detroit Lions Pro Bowl tight end T.J. Hockenson underwent thumb surgery Thursday morning and will miss the remainder of the season, sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Renowned hand-specialist Dr. Thomas Graham performed the surgery and Hockenson is expected to make a complete recovery in time for the offseason program, the sources said.

Hockenson, in his third NFL season, leads the Lions with 61 receptions, 583 yards and four touchdown catches.

He was selected to his first Pro Bowl in 2020 when he had 67 receptions for 723 yards and six touchdown catches.
