Mother of two arraigned in court for defrauding would-be husband of N10m

A mother of two, Fatima Sanusi accused of defrauding her would-be-husband of N10million 10 days to their wedding, has been arraigned before a Chief Magistrates Court sitting in Barnawa, Kaduna State.

Sanusi was said to have concluded plans to marry the plaintiff but changed her mind 10 days to their wedding. She reportedly got married to the father of her children instead.

The charge against her read;

“The complainant and the defendant started dating in July, 2020 and after a long courtship, the complainant proposed to the defendant in January, 2021 which the defendant accepted.

“Based on the defendant’s acceptance to marry the complainant, the defendant started collecting money from the complainant with the belief that all her responsibilities and that of her children and parents are to be catered by the complainant.

“From the day you promised to marry the complaint, he has expended N6.7million on you which you are aware of and he has expended nothing less than N3.2million in preparation for the wedding.”

The lady was admitted bail of N500,00 with two sureties in like sum. One of the sureties must be a relation of the defendant working with a relevant organsation and the other a neighbour.
