A kidnapped officer of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) in Katsina, Malam Aminu Mutumin Kirki, has died after he regained his freedom. One Malam Ibrahim Bature, who disclosed this on Facebook, said the deceased was kidnapped during the first week of Ramadan and released after payment of millions in ransom. The officer, who was tortured by his abductors in the forest, had been hospitalized since his release. Sadly, he died on Sunday, May 7, 2023. He was kidnapped the first week of Ramadan. Tortured by the bandits, they collected millions in ransom twice before they finally released him. He had been hospitalised since his release a week after Sallah.
