"The bandits tortured him and collected millions of Naira in ransom" – Man mourns kidnapped correctional service officer who died after regaining freedom

A kidnapped officer of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) in Katsina, Malam Aminu Mutumin Kirki, has died after he regained his freedom.  One Malam Ibrahim Bature, who disclosed this on Facebook, said the deceased was kidnapped during the first week of Ramadan and released after payment of millions in ransom.   The officer, who was tortured by his abductors in the forest, had been hospitalized since his release.  Sadly, he died on Sunday, May 7, 2023.  He was kidnapped the first week of Ramadan. Tortured by the bandits, they collected millions in ransom twice before they finally released him. He had been hospitalised since his release a week after Sallah. Today, he died as a result of the trauma. Malam Aminu mutumin kirki. This and many other cases are among the challenges facing the incoming government of Nigeria. I pray our leaders should end this menace that has been traumatising many families and affecting our economy.
