Benue Death toll rises to 11 as deputy governor visits OTOBI community

The death toll from the Tuesday night attack on Otobi community in Akpa district of Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State, has risen to 11.

Youths from the community on Wednesday morning recovered more corpses bringing the total number of deaths to 11.

The attack is the second within the of April in Otobi community where the Federal Ministry of Water Resources Multipurpose Dam was located, few days ago, a security guard. guarding the dam was killed at the dam site.

The member representing Otukpo/Akpa Constituency in the Benue State House of Assembly, Kennedy Angbo, confirmed the attack

Meanwhile Benue State deputy governor, Dr. Sam Odeh today Wednesday visited the community attacked by the herders to condoned with the families in behalf of state governor Hyacinth Alia and to reassure of state government commitment to address the violent attacks.
