US Rapper Pop Smoke shot dead in his home shortly after he shared a tweet

When Rapper Pop Smoke took to Twitter less than 3 hours ago to share a tweet, he had no idea that would be his last tweet ever. The rapper was shot dead in his Hollywood Hills home shortly after he shared the tweet and fans are in shock.

TMZ said that two masked men wearing hoodies broke into the rapper’s home early Wednesday morning, February 19, firing multiple shots before fleeing the scene on foot.

“The rapper was at his home in the Hollywood Hills at around 4:30 AM when 2 men wearing hoodies and masks broke into his house. We’re told the 2 men fired multiple shots, striking and critically wounding Pop Smoke. The men were seen fleeing on foot,” TMZ reports, citing law enforcement source.

Footage of first responders attempting to perform life-saving techniques on the rapper, as he’s being wheeled out on a stretcher to an awaiting ambulance, has been shared online. 

Pop Smoke was reportedly rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and was pronounced dead.

Fans have gone on Twitter to express their shock. Celebrities, such as Nicki Minaj and 50 Cent, have also paid tribute to the rapper on Instagram.
