Katsina Police confirms arrest of corps member for allegedly raping secondary school girl

A corps member is currently being detained by the Katsina State Police Command for reportedly raping a female junior secondary student at his Primary Place of Assignment in the state. 

Katsina state police spokesperson, SP Gambo Isah who confirmed the incident disclosed that they are still awaiting the medical reports to formally charge the corps member with the crime. 

Isah said; 

“Yes, the boy has been arrested and remains in detention but we are still awaiting the outcome of our investigation and the medical report to firmly establish the allegation.”

The corps member was arrested after the JSS 1 student accused him of raping her at the residence the school he works with, provided for serving corps members.

Reacting to the corps member’s arrest, NYSC authorities in the state revealed that they are awaiting police investigation into the case.
