Sources: Saints expect WR Thomas to miss MNF

The New Orleans Saints expect Michael Thomas to miss at least their game against the Oakland Raiders on Monday Night Football, sources told ESPN.

The star receiver suffered a high ankle sprain in Sunday’s win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

While the Saints don’t expect him to play Monday, the durable Thomas is not convinced he will miss the game, sources said.

The Saints also have discussed placing Thomas on injured reserve — which would keep him out at least three games — but he opposes that idea, sources said.
