When American economist Paul Milgrom went to sleep he never imagined he would be woken up at two in the morning to the news that he had won a Nobel Prize. But that’s exactly what happened.
He was awarded the honour alongside fellow economist Bob Wilson.
Mr Wilson popped round to break the news to his neighbour when the committee was unable to reach him by phone.
