Saric stays with Suns on 3-year, $27 million deal

Dario Saric has agreed to a three-year, $27 million deal to stay with the Phoenix Suns, agents Jeff Schwartz and Mike Lindeman told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

At 6-foot-10, 225 pounds, Saric can play the stretch 4 and 5 positions, averaging 10.7 points and 6.2 rebounds while shooting 35.7 percent from 3-point range last season.

Acquired in a draft-day trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Saric, 26, had an up-and-down first season in Phoenix. A rough stretch in January and February saw his minutes dip below 20 per game and he averaged just 7.1 points and 4.0 points.

But Saric emerged as a major contributor the rest of the way. In four games in March, he boosted his averages to 18.8 points and 6.8 rebounds in 31.5 minutes before the pandemic halted the season.

His success continued in the Orlando bubble, where he took on a sixth man role and thrived, posting 14.8 points and 7.6 rebounds while shooting 57.4 percent from the field, including 52.4 % from 3-point range.

Saric, 26, was the 12th pick of the 2014 draft.
