Pope Francis holds first mass in Iraq

Pope Francis delivered his first ever mass in Iraq, on the first ever papal visit to the country.

Coronavirus restrictions meant the number of people in attendance was sparse, but among them sat Iraq’s president Barham Salih. The public mass was part of a visit taken by Pope Francis to bring to attention the suffering of Iraq’s Christian minority.
