The 2021 NHL trade deadline has passed, with many players and draft picks changing teams.
That includes Pierre-Luc Dubois heading to the Jets, with Patrik Laine and Jack Roslovic joining the Blue Jackets on Jan. 23. More recently, the Islanders traded for Devils veteran Kyle Palmieri and Travis Zajac, the Avalanche bolstered their goaltending depth with Devan Dubnyk, the Lightning boosted their Stanley Cup repeat chances by trading for defenseman David Savard, and the Bruins landed former MVP Taylor Hall from the Sabres.

Players to watch today
Defensemen to keep an eye on today: Dmitry Kulikov (NJD), Michael Del Zotto (CBJ) and Jamie Oleksiak (DAL).
As of yesterday, I heard Dallas was still undecided on whether to move Oleksiak or not, so that’s a situation to watch.

Potential destination for Bernier
Given circumstances, I can see Bernier potentially going to the @Capitals to provide extra veteran help for their team and two young goalies. @TSNHockey @NHLNetwork @NHL #HockeyTwitter

Conor Garland on the move?
There’s buzz about Coyotes forward Conor Garland (25, RFA) and rightfully so, because he’s quite good. His availability earlier this season was greatly overstated – more about teams calling about him than being shopped. Intrigued to see if that’s changed as deadline arrives.

Golden Knights a deadline day wild card?
The Vegas Golden Knights have been lurking on a few trades so far. They were in on Hall, in on Foligno.
Not sure they end up adding -they have no cap space, so it would have to be creative -but GM Kelly McCrimmon is a wildcard to watch. Vegas has acted aggressively lately.

Cap space as a trade deadline asset
Teams haven’t been shy in shopping their cap space. NJD, Det and SJ have all been used as a broker to remedy cap issues to this point. The NYR have approximately $9 mil in space and are among those clubs willing to facilitate financially complex trades as well.

Senators not done dealing?
#Sens may not be done. Will see how today goes. Names to watch are: Erik Gudbranson and Artem Anisimov. Maybe Ryan Dzingel but it sounds doubtful. Anything can change.
