George Floyd: Family reacts to Derek Chauvin murder conviction

The family of George Floyd have expressed relief over the murder conviction of Derek Chauvin – who knelt on Floyd’s neck for more than nine minutes during his arrest.

His death and last words “I can’t breathe” sparked global protests against racism and excessive police force.

Speaking after the verdict, brother Philonise Floyd said “today we are able to breathe again”.
